Post Runes and Insignias

Well, hopefully in a day or so I will be getting my pimeval armor and I would like to get an answer to some questions of mine.

Are there a runes or insignies you prefer to ahve over others?
Should I have req 13 str just so I can use the setinal insignia?
And does rune placement really mater? I here people telling others to put their Sup vigers a lot xD
Also, I prefer to use axes over swords, but I might be using swords soon.

Personally, I use knights insigs on every piece of armor. Put whatever sup (or minor for pvp) on my head piece, and put strength/if needed tactic runes on hands or feet. On chest and legs I have two superior absorptions.

It works. I'm not sure if the abs work together for hits to the chest and to the legs.

Absorbsion effects every armour peice, having two will have no extra effect you will only gain the benefit from one.

I tend to go with either survivors (extra health) or dreadnoughts (+10 vs ele) both because they are easy to use. I always have stoneskin on my hands, a must have if you are ever planning to use a KD.
As far as runes go:
Head - Weapons rune, Major or Superior.
Chest - Vigor, only Major I'm too poor for Superior.
Legs - Vitae or SuperiorAbsorbsion, both quite handy.
Hands and feet - Usually strength and tactics runes, Minor.

If you are palnning to swap weapons you can always buy two helms, if moneys an issue buy a cheap 1k helm for your secondary weapon of choice and just select the " always hide" option for it.

Hope that helps

from a pure pvp side, i stopped using any kind of absorption (the rune or the insignia) ages ago. You have 100AL vs physical damage anyway, and people that attack a warrior with physical damage are braindead anyway and pose no threat :P

In PvE, it might still be usefull, but even there i rarely die with full survivors (apart from stoneskin gauntlets), minor weapon rune, superior vigor, minor strength/tactics and one vitae rune. Gives you more than enough HP to survive, and even in PvE, 14 weapon mastery is plenty.

The only sets I use are Survivor and occasionally, but somewhat rare, Radiant.

Run Strength Minor, Tactics Minor, Superior Vigor, Weapon Minor, and a Rune of your choice. Absorption isn't really needed imo, though it used to be a staple. Stupid only vs. physical change. >.>

Radiant isn't needed in PvE anymore, your build shouldn't be energy intensive. The only exception might be if you're running a Triple Chop axe build, but a Zealous mod should be sufficient. If you're running a sword, Dragon Slash doesn't need energy.

I always go full Survivor and for runes, major absorption, major vigor, stength, tactics, and major for your weapon.

I generally go full Brawlers or Dreadnoughts; I don't PvP so survivor isn't needed and D-Slash is too fun to change it to a radiant requiring build (I do have a radiant set though, for running and farming).

As for runes, I use a sup weapon mastery (3 different runes on different helmets), minor strength, minor tactics, sup absorb, and sup vigor (I'm rich )

got a brawler armor and radiant armor

Don't need anything else I guess. brawler is for any normal playing (+10 armor (almost) always) and radiant for any farming/running I do
had a sentinels armor, but didn't use it at all, +20 AL vs elemental isnt that great anyway.

The way I understand it, Absorption is locational. If you put it on your leg armor, it only reduces damage sustained by your legs. Since different pieces of your armor have different hit chances, the best place to put Absorption is on your chestpiece since it has the highest chance of being hit: 37.5% (3/8). For comparison, leggings have a 25% (2/8) chance of being hit, everything else is 12.5% (1/8).

Therefore, in theory, a Superior Absorption rune on your chest reduces more damage over time than the same rune on your legs.

It's always been global. The location of runes doesn't matter, although the headpiece tends to be convenient for weapon runes.

I stand corrected. Now you know why I used the qualifiers "The way I understand it..." and "in theory." :P

I generally consider a team of strong protectors and healers to be more useful than trying to weather through as much damage as possible in PvE, so I go ahead and take Superior Strength (plus it helps with build) however most people find it easier and safer to go with a minor rune. Though superior is cheaper, as it is less popular.

Radiant Insignias and one Stonefist insignia. Rune of Superior Vigor. Runes of Vitae. Strength focused helm.

and use a -2 damage while in a stance shield

Honestly, a Rune of Clarity to reduce Blindness and Weakness has worked wonders for me in PvE, especially when the healers are busy. Most of the time, the conditions are removed anyway, but if you're ever in a tight spot, that 20% really makes a difference.
